E Invitations

eInvitations is an Air Force electronic-invitation and RSVP-tracking tool hosted at einvitations.afit.edu by the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). Air Force organizations use it to build formatted invitations for official functions — award banquets, ceremonies, conferences — and to track guest responses; invited guests follow a public RSVP link without needing a CAC.

What it is

The eInvitations generator (einvitations.afit.edu/generator/) lets an authorized user create an electronic invitation for an official event and send it out by email. Recipients get a link (of the form einvitations.afit.edu/inv/anim.cfm?i=...) that they open to view the invitation and submit an RSVP; the event organizer can then track headcount and responses. Base public affairs offices and unit administrative staff have used it for events such as anniversary banquets and dining-outs, sharing the RSVP link publicly on official social media pages.

Who operates it

eInvitations is operated by AFIT's Communications Directorate (AFIT/A6), located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio (2950 Hobson Way, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-7765). Support is handled by email only, at einvitations@afit.edu; per the site's own notice, AFIT/A6 cannot forward inquiries to other AFIT offices, so requests unrelated to the tool itself should go elsewhere in AFIT.

Access

Creating and managing an invitation requires logging in with a Common Access Card (CAC) at the generator's login page, which offers a dedicated "CAC Login" option. There is no public self-service account-request process; the tool is for CAC-holding DoD personnel who create the event listing, typically administrative or public-affairs staff acting for their unit. Invited guests, by contrast, reach their specific invitation and RSVP through a link the organizer emails or posts publicly — that link does not require a CAC. Classified information must not be entered into the system, and the site is documented as not to be used for personal (non-official) purposes.

How logisticians use it

eInvitations is a general administrative utility, not a logistics-specific system. Logistics squadrons and support units use it the same way any Air Force organization does — to issue invitations and track RSVPs for official unit functions such as dining-outs, retirement ceremonies, and change-of-command events.
