DD Form 250, Material Inspection and Receiving Report, is the Department of Defense's standard record that government inspection and acceptance of supplies or services delivered under a contract has occurred. DFARS clause 252.246-7000 requires it on contracts that call for separate, distinct deliverables, and DFARS Appendix F sets out how to complete and distribute it — as a combined inspection report, receiving report, and, when a copy is annotated for the purpose, the contractor's invoice.

A contracting officer's representative, quality-assurance representative, or receiving activity completes the form at the point of inspection — which may be at the contractor's plant (source inspection) or at the government destination — and distributes copies to the contracting office, the paying office, and the property or supply record. In current practice most DD 250 transactions are submitted electronically through the Wide Area WorkFlow module of the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) rather than on paper, but the DD 250 data layout remains the reference format those electronic systems replicate. The version currently published is a 2020 revision superseding the prior August 2000 edition; the exact 2020 revision date could not be independently confirmed for this entry.
