Acquisition Community Connection DAU

This entry covers what was formerly the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Continuous Learning Center — since November 2025 rebranded, along with all of DAU, as the Warfighting Acquisition University (WarU). WarU's Continuous Learning Center provides self-paced online modules, courses, and credentials that the Department of War's acquisition, technology, and logistics workforce uses to earn required Continuous Learning Points (CLPs). The catalog now lives at waru.edu.

What it is

The Continuous Learning Center is WarU's hub for ongoing professional development of the defense acquisition workforce, distinct from the initial certification/qualification training pipeline. It hosts self-paced online training (OLT) modules, guidance on Continuous Learning Point (CLP) requirements, and points to service-specific tracking systems and Acquisition Career Manager (DACM) points of contact. All Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members are required to complete at least 80 hours of continuous learning every two years.

Who operates it

The Continuous Learning Center is operated by the Warfighting Acquisition University (WarU), formerly the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). WarU was renamed and redirected by a Secretary of War memo dated November 7, 2025 ("Transforming the Defense Acquisition System into the Warfighting Acquisition System"), which directed the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment to modernize and rename DAU. WarU is a Department of War 4th Estate ("4e") agency serving the roughly 166,000-person warfighting acquisition workforce.

Access

Access requires a Department of War Common Access Card (CAC) or a DAU/WarU ID. New Acquisition Workforce members and new federal employees at certain components have an account created automatically; all other DoW CAC holders must request an account by submitting a WarU Student Account Access Request (SAAR). Non-DoW federal agency employees and defense-industry (contractor) employees are also eligible to complete WarU training, subject to the same account-request process. Course registration itself happens through the WarU Virtual Campus after login.

How logisticians use it

Acquisition and product-support logisticians use the Continuous Learning Center to complete required Continuous Learning Modules (CLMs) and other creditable activities, track and report Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) toward the mandatory 80-hours-per-two-years requirement, and access policy/guidance and DACM points of contact for their service or component.

History & lineage

The Defense Acquisition University traces to 1991. Its Continuous Learning Center (and the associated Acquisition Community Connection knowledge-sharing platform this entry was originally built around) operated under the DAU/dau.edu name for over three decades. Following the Secretary of War's November 2025 acquisition-reform memo, DAU was renamed Warfighting Acquisition University (WarU) and its site moved to waru.edu, with dau.edu now redirecting to the new domain.
