Logistics Data Gateway LDG

The Logistics Data Gateway (LDG) is a web-based data warehouse maintained by the Defense Automatic Addressing System (DAAS), a Defense Logistics Agency service, that gives authorized users access to current and historical logistics transaction data flowing through DAAS. Analysts and program offices use it to query that data, build reports, track requisitions, and spot supply-chain trends. Access requires a Common Access Card (CAC) and an approved System Access Request (SAR) — the tool is not open to the general public.

What it is

LDG is described on its official DAAS page as "a DoD level utility that provides for easy web access to the current and historical data" processed through DAAS, integrating that transaction data so it can be analyzed, reported on, and used to forecast future demand rather than viewed as raw message traffic.

Who operates it

LDG is operated by DAAS, a Defense Logistics Agency activity historically also known as DLA Transaction Services. DAAS receives, edits, and routes logistics transactions (e.g., MILSTRIP requisitions) for the military services and federal agencies, and LDG is one of the reporting/analytics tools built on top of that transaction stream.

Access

LDG requires a valid CAC plus a login ID and password issued through DAAS's System Access Request (SAR) process — it is not publicly accessible. The directory's stored access type of "public" does not match this; it is CAC-and-SAR-gated. New users request access at the official LDG information page (home.daas.dla.mil/daashome/ldg.asp), which links to the SAR request form.

How logisticians use it

Once granted access, users query LDG's warehouse of DAAS transaction data to analyze requisition activity, generate management reports, track the status of logistics transactions over time, and identify trends useful for demand forecasting and supply-chain decision-making.
