milSuite was the U.S. Army's suite of secure, behind-the-firewall collaboration tools for Department of Defense personnel, military, civilians, and contractors. The Army officially sunset the entire platform on 30 April 2025 as part of network-modernization efforts; this entry should be treated as a retirement notice, not an active-tool listing.
What it was
Launched in October 2009, milSuite was a cloud-based collection of social-business applications for DoD-wide collaboration without exposing content to the public internet. Its named products included milBook (professional networking/communities), milWiki (community knowledge base), milTube (video sharing), milSurvey (surveys), and milUniversity (learning/training).
Who operated it
milSuite was part of the Army's MilTech portfolio, managed under Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS). The portfolio transitioned from PEO Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T) to PEO EIS, officially completing on 1 October 2020.
Access (historical)
While it operated, milSuite required Common Access Card (CAC) authentication for DoD personnel, military, civilians, and contractors — the directory's prior "public" access designation was incorrect.
Status: retired
Per the Army's official April 2025 sunset notice, milSuite became read-only on 16 April 2025 and was made obsolete on 30 April 2025. All platform data was permanently deleted after that date; migration was user-driven, with no Army-provided migration tooling. The Army directed users to weekly transition workshops (Thursdays, 1300 EDT) leading up to the shutdown.
Related systems
The Army's official guidance pointed former milSuite users to Army 365 tools as functional replacements: Microsoft Teams (real-time collaboration/networking), Microsoft Stream (video, replacing milTube), Microsoft Forms (surveys/polls, replacing milSurvey), and SharePoint (document/knowledge management, replacing milWiki). Training and milUniversity users were directed to the Army Training Information System (ATIS).
