Navy Lodge is the Navy's on-base guest lodging program, run by the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), offering affordable temporary rooms for the Navy and broader military community at installations worldwide. The navy-lodge.com website lets eligible patrons search locations and make reservations. It is a quality-of-life/lodging resource, not a materiel-logistics system.

What it is

Navy Lodge operates a worldwide network of on-base guest lodges providing temporary accommodations, historically associated with permanent-change-of-station (PCS) moves and leisure travel for the Navy/military community, priced for military-community affordability. The website provides a location finder and online booking.

Who operates it

Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), a Department of the Navy non-appropriated-fund activity operating under Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), runs Navy Lodge as one of its business lines. NEXCOM also operates Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) — rebranding as "Navy Inn" as of 2024 — which is a related but distinct temporary-duty (TDY) lodging program consolidated under NEXCOM management alongside Navy Lodge; the two programs serve different travel purposes but share the same parent command.

Access

The website itself is publicly accessible with no login required to browse locations or check rates. Reservations are restricted to eligible patrons: active duty and family members, retirees and family members, Reserve/National Guard and family members, surviving spouses, U.S. Coast Guard, DoD civilians and family members on orders, and several other DoD-affiliated categories. A lodging reservation does not guarantee installation access — guests without a DoD ID card may need to arrange base access separately through the installation's Pass and ID office. Reservations and eligibility questions go through the DoD Reservation Center at (800) 628-9466 or DoDReservations@nexweb.org.

How logisticians use it

Personnel executing a PCS move, reporting for temporary duty, or traveling on leave to visit a duty station use Navy Lodge to secure on-base lodging at rates the DoD community can afford, reducing per-diem lodging costs and keeping personnel close to the installations they are transferring to or from.

Related systems

Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (rebranding to Navy Inn) is NEXCOM's companion TDY-focused lodging brand. Personnel on official duty travel may also use FedRooms or coordinate through the Defense Travel System (DTS) for lodging booked as part of official travel orders.
