Who operates it
Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), a Department of the Navy non-appropriated-fund activity operating under Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), runs Navy Lodge as one of its business lines. NEXCOM also operates Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) — rebranding as "Navy Inn" as of 2024 — which is a related but distinct temporary-duty (TDY) lodging program consolidated under NEXCOM management alongside Navy Lodge; the two programs serve different travel purposes but share the same parent command.

The website itself is publicly accessible with no login required to browse locations or check rates. Reservations are restricted to eligible patrons: active duty and family members, retirees and family members, Reserve/National Guard and family members, surviving spouses, U.S. Coast Guard, DoD civilians and family members on orders, and several other DoD-affiliated categories. A lodging reservation does not guarantee installation access — guests without a DoD ID card may need to arrange base access separately through the installation's Pass and ID office.
