USAF DoDAAC Search

USAF DoDAAC Search is the Air Force's DoDAAC Web Management System (WMS), the official tool for requesting, changing, deleting, and validating Air Force Department of Defense Activity Address Codes (DoDAACs). A DoDAAC is a six-position code that uniquely identifies a unit, activity, or organization authorized to requisition or receive DoD materiel. The tool writes into the DoD Activity Address Directory (DoDAAD), the department-wide directory that ties each DoDAAC to its address and processing data, and is used daily by Air Force logistics and supply personnel.

What it is

The WMS, hosted at dodaac.cce.af.mil, is the Air Force's front end for maintaining its slice of the DoDAAD: standing up a new DoDAAC, changing an existing one, deleting a cancelled one, and completing the DoDAAC's required periodic validation. Procedures for using the WMS are published in Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 23-230, which governs Air Force DoDAAC/DoDAAD management. The DoDAAD itself is authorized and governed DoD-wide under Defense Logistics Manual (DLM) 4000.25, Volume 6, maintained by DLA Transaction Services as the single authoritative source of DoDAAC identification, routing, and address data.

Who operates it

The system is an Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) logistics capability. The Air Force's Central Service Point (CSP) for DoDAAC/DoDAAD — the office responsible for coordinating and approving DoDAAC actions within the Air Force before they post to the DoD-wide directory — is the 437th Supply Chain Operations Squadron (437 SCOS), per DLA's published CSP contact listing. A second Air Force CSP entry, run by SAF/FMF, handles F-series (financial management) DoDAACs specifically.

Access

The WMS itself is a DoD PKI/CAC-authenticated site; the page returns a certificate/login prompt to unauthenticated visitors, consistent with its published CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) security accreditation. Beyond CAC authentication, gaining an account requires an appointment memorandum submitted to the DoDAAD System Administrator and a System Authorization Access Request (SAR/SAAR) submitted to the Defense Automatic Addressing System (DAAS), per DoD DoDAAD update-application access procedures. This is a management/update tool for authorized Air Force logistics personnel, not a general public lookup service — the directory's prior "public" access classification does not hold up; it should be corrected to reflect CAC-plus-SAAR-gated access.

How logisticians use it

Air Force logistics and supply personnel use the WMS to confirm a unit's DoDAAC before requisitioning or shipping materiel, to establish a new DoDAAC when a unit or activity stands up, to update an existing DoDAAC's address or data when an organization changes, and to complete the DoDAAC's required periodic validation so it stays active in the DoDAAD. Because DoDAACs drive where materiel, documentation, and billing are routed DoD-wide, keeping an Air Force DoDAAC current in this system has direct downstream effects on requisitioning and finance processes across the Defense Logistics Management System (DLMS).
