DLA Disposition Services eDOCS

eDOCS, formally the RBI Electronic Document System, is a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) application that stores and manages the electronic documents tied to property disposal — turn-in paperwork, receipts, and other disposition records. It is part of DLA's Reutilization Business Integration (RBI) initiative and is operated by DLA Disposition Services for personnel who process or need to retrieve disposition documentation.

What it is

eDOCS is a Department of Defense information system, restricted to UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO data, that functions as an electronic repository for forms, directions, and other documents used across DLA Disposition Services' turn-in and disposal process. RBI is DLA's strategy to replace the legacy Disposition Services Automated Information System (DAISY) by integrating its functionality into DLA Enterprise applications — including the Enterprise Business System (EBS), the Disposition Services System (DSS), and web tools such as eDocs.

Who operates it

DLA Disposition Services, a field activity of the Defense Logistics Agency, operates eDOCS. It is hosted on DLA's public-facing DACS (Document and Content Services) platform.

Access

eDOCS is not a public tool. Access requires a DLA Account Management and Provisioning System (AMPS) request, and login uses either a Common Access Card (CAC) with an email certificate or an approved Username/Password. Accounts that go unused for 30 days are deactivated; reactivation after deactivation requires contacting the DISA Global Service Desk within 90 days. New users request access by registering in AMPS at amps.dla.mil and requesting the eDocs role.

How logisticians use it

Disposition Services personnel and authorized DLA customers use eDOCS to store, search, and retrieve the electronic documentation generated during property turn-in and disposal — reducing dependence on paper records and supporting audit trails for disposition transactions. It works alongside the Enhanced Turn-In Document (ETID) and Reutilization/Transfer/Donation (RTD) web tools that DLA Disposition Services customers use for the turn-in process itself.

Related systems

eDOCS is one piece of DLA Disposition Services' RBI modernization, alongside the Enhanced Turn-In Document (ETID) system for creating turn-in paperwork and DLA's broader Enterprise Business System (EBS). Access to all of these DLA web applications is provisioned through AMPS.
