milConnect

milConnect is the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) self-service web portal where DoD-affiliated personnel, retirees, dependents, and other beneficiaries view and update their Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) records, manage ID-card/CAC information, and retrieve official benefits documents. It is reached at milconnect.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect/.

What it is

milConnect provides self-service access to DEERS-held data: updating contact information, managing family-member and beneficiary records, checking benefits and eligibility, and generating proof-of-coverage and other official documents. New-account setup for portal access is initiated through DMDC's identity-management site (myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil).

Access

milConnect requires sign-in with a Common Access Card (CAC) or a DoD Self-Service (DS) Logon account; DMDC has been transitioning users to a newer authentication platform called myAuth. Non-CAC holders (e.g., retirees, dependents, and other beneficiaries without a card) can register for an account via email verification or remote identity proofing at DMDC's identity-management registration page. This is not an open-public tool — the directory's prior "public" classification is misleading.

How logisticians use it

milConnect is a personnel/benefits self-service tool rather than a materiel-logistics system. Logisticians and other DoD-affiliated users rely on it individually — to keep DEERS information current, manage CAC/ID-card matters, and pull benefits documentation — rather than as part of a supply-chain or logistics workflow.
